Description
An early Victorian pinchbeck brooch and earring set. Antique set's also known as a demi parure are highly sought after by collector's as they usually are divided by family or lost and seperated over the years. Featuring an oval plaque decorated with an ornate foliate motif, with beautifully engraved accents and stippled texturing on the leaves. All three pieces are feature a cluster of crystal clear paste stones surrounded by a wreath of a leaves for a naturalistic foliate design with the gemstones positioned as if to symbolise a flower. The metal is a brass alloy and assumed to be pinchebeck based on age.
Measurements: The brooch measures 41.72mm by 15.03mm. The earrings are 30.48mm in length in cluding the earwires with 17.03mm by 18.43mm oval plaques.
Condition: In very good condition consistent for age. One of the earrings has a solder/epoxy repair to the back that is only noticeable with close examination.
