Fee schedule

As a professional jewelry appraiser, the charges are services based upon either an hourly rate or a per-item fee.  I do not charge by a percentage of the appraised value. The fees are based on the complexity of the items, the amount of work needed along with the required research to complete a full report, or for a contracted amount based on an estimate of the time involved.  I can provide an estimate prior to your appraisal appointment but an exact quote cannot be established until your appointment, after the jewelry has been reviewed.

  • Consultation Services
    • $150 per hour with a $75 minimum charge. This fee is waived if appraisal services are being provided following the consultation.
  • Full Appraisal Report
    • $125 for 1 item, $80 each for 2 or more items on all appraisal methods requiring a full report. Completed paperwork will be mailed or available for pickup within 7 days.
    • $25 additional per item for expedited services to receive paperwork same day.
    • Appraisals with complex items, such as a large diamond, multiple gems, trademarked items (such as Tiffany, Cartier, etc.), antique or vintage period pieces and high-end watches that require a longer examination and research time are billed at the hourly rate of $150 per hour.
  • Gem Identification Services
    • $15-25 per item, verbal identification only with no paperwork. Items with a large number of multi-gems, that need specialized gem lab testing or that require more time to test will be charged accordingly.
  • Client Location Services
    • $150 per hour including travel time to your location, the set up time and return travel time. This is in addition to the appraisal or consultation charges.
  • Remote/Internet Evaluation Services
    • $40 per item. A limiting conditions report based on the assumption of comparable items which is not a guaranty of authenticity without a physical inspection. This report is typically not accepted by your insurer.
