Vintage 900 Silver Italian Cameo Filigree Earrings | Silver Gilt | Shell Cameo
Description
A vintage pair of 900 silver filigree earrings from Italy. They are silver gilt with a gold wash. The cameos are hand carved in helmet shell. They are estimated to be from the later side of the mid 19th century range and more towards the 1960's based on the kidney ear wires that are original to the earrings. Stamped '900' and what looks like '?5GE'. The 2nd mark is believe to be the Italian marker's mark registration number with GE being assayed in Genova Italy and the maker's registered number in Genova of either 15 or 5. If 15 is correct it would be the mark for GRASSO GIOV. BATTISTA who has similar examples of filigree work online.
Condition: Very good condition with slight wear to the gold wash.
Measurements: Measures just slightly over 1 1/2" in length including ear wires by 1/2" in width.
