Description: An Art Nouveau 18k white gold black onyx with diamond ring. Having a large 20x11mm rectangular shaped black onyx tablet that has an inlaid diamond accented plaque. Signed Belais, stamped and tested 18k. Weighs a substantial 5.1 grams.
The Belais Brothers were among the first to use white gold in jewelry in the United States. They worked in the late 19th and early 20th century, starting their experiments with alloys for white gold and presenting the final formula to the trade in 1917. They held a patent on their process through the 1920's. In addition, Belais was known for its elegant and finely crafted settings.
Measurements: Ring size 7. Measures 7/8" wide by 1/8" in height.
