Description

Description: An early 1900's antique 14k yellow gold garnet and glass doublet used as an imitation ruby & rose cut diamond ring. In the center is a table cut 5.5x4.5mm rectangular garnet and glass doublet framed by (14) .02 carat rose cut diamonds and (6) .01 carat rose cut diamonds accenting the shank. Unmarked shank but electronically tested. Circa 1900's.

Garnet and glass doublets were very common in Victorian times used to imitate ruby, emerald and sapphire. This involved a red garnet top, glued to a colored glass bottom. They are highly collectible in their own right.

Measurements: Measures 3/8" by 5/16" across the top by 1/8" high. Ring size 7.

Condition: No wear to doublet but there is a slight ding to the bezel on the side. It almost looks like one of the rose cut diamonds was replaced or reset. A section of the shank was inserted to enlarge.

Shipping time: Stock size ships in 1 to 3 days. Add an additional week if resizing is requested.
