Antique 14k Rose Gold Rose Diamond Ring | Garnet and Glass Doublet
Description
An antique 14k rose gold garnet and glass doublet imitation sapphires & rose cut diamond ring. Having 2) 4.0mm garnet and glass doublet imitation sapphires with 2) .02 carat and (6) .01 carat rose cut diamonds accenting the bi-pass designed setting. Stamped with an anchor hallmark and electronically tested. Circa 1890's.
Garnet and glass doublets were very common in Victorian times used to imitate ruby, emerald and sapphire. This involved a red garnet top, glued to a colored glass bottom. They are highly collectible in their own right.
Weight: 1.8 grams.
Measurements: Measures 5/8" by 1/8" high. Ring is a size 6 1/2.
Condition:Good. There is a chip on one of the doublets that is only noticeable under magnification.
